ℹ About This Site

Running it. From the folder that contains site/ and media/, run bash serve.sh (or python3 -m http.server 8000) and open http://localhost:8000/site/index.html. You can also double-click site/index.html; everything (math rendering, figures) works offline from local files.

Structure. - site/content/ — the source Markdown for every page (units, labs, this page) and site/content/narration/ — the spoken narration scripts, one per unit, with [[#section-id]] cues that tell the video maker which part of the page to show. - site/figures/ — all figures as SVG, generated by tools/figs101.py and tools/figs102.py (in the full project folder). - site/build.py — regenerates the HTML from Markdown (needs pip install markdown pymdown-extensions). The built HTML is already included; you only need this if you edit content. - site/assets/katex/ — KaTeX math renderer, bundled for offline use. - media/ — one MP3 and one MP4 per unit, plus combined course MP3s.

Recording mode. Add ?rec=1 to any unit URL to hide the sidebar and enlarge the text — the layout used for the video captures, handy if you want to screen-record your own walkthrough.

Voice. Narration audio was synthesised offline with the open-weight Kokoro-82M text-to-speech model (ONNX runtime, voice "af_heart").
